Hold on tight and brace your ears because “Paper Neck” is heavy, intense and no doubt, loud. The rhythm packs heavy. Like married monsters, the thunderous drums stride against its better half, a bombastic bass-line whose combined tremors burrow beneath the bone. A lightning storm of guitars ignites the atmosphere wile mob-like harmonies flood the fissures gouged by the bass. Amped out vocals stand in front of it all like a Valkyrie summoning its titans. Even the opening lyrics, “Misty saltwater splashes up and catches my face…” seem to heed the very storm that has conjured in this mix. It is wild and exhilarating.
